Drive sustainability efforts as a Sustainability Energy Engineer at the City of Markham, focusing on corporate energy management. Contribute insights to help reach net-zero emissions by 2050.
You will report directly to the Manager, Facility Capital Planning, within the Sustainability and Asset Management department. Your expertise will play a critical role in tracking and improving energy use across municipal facilities, engaging employees in conservation efforts, and reporting greenhouse gas emissions.
Key Responsibilities: • Develop and implement the Corporate Energy Management Plan • Analyze and report on energy consumption and emissions • Set greenhouse gas reduction targets for the city • Manage metering programs and utility billing • Facilitate training and awareness programs
Requirements: • Engineering degree or technical diploma in Energy Management • 5-7 years' experience in relevant fields • Proficient with HVAC systems and utility analysis • Certification as an Energy Manager is advantageous • Clean Ontario “G” driver's license is mandatory
