About the Job Nicoya is seeking a resourceful, metrics-driven, and coachable individual who is eager to grow and make an impact in a rapid-paced biotech company. This role reports directly to the Marketing department but plays a critical role in supporting the Sales Team in sales prospecting initiatives. You’ll be on the front lines of identifying and qualifying potential customers for our breakthrough biosensor and biological characterization technologies.
We’re looking for someone with a strong science aptitude, a hunger to learn, and the drive to contribute to our growing commercial team. Responsibilities
Partner with Account Executives and Field Application Scientists to support regional sales goals
Support Marketing demand gen initiatives such as events and NPI prospecting
Identify and research new prospects using tools like LinkedIn, SciLeads, Clay, and CRM reports
Conduct outreach via email and phone call to initiate conversations with scientists and decision-makers
Qualify inbound leads and schedule discovery calls or demos with the sales team
Understand our prospects’ research goals and how Nicoya’s and Applied Photophysics' product portfolios can support their work
Maintain accurate records and contact details in our CRM (Salesforce preferred)
Experiment with and optimize outbound messaging and outreach tacticsTrack and report on key prospecting KPIs and campaign results
Our Ideal Candidate Has
Combined science and business background and 1-3 years of experience in a sales or customer service role.
Experience selling a technical, scientific piece of equipment to academic labs, government labs, and businesses, but candidates with all levels of experience will be considered.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Science background (biotech, life sciences, chemistry, materials science, etc.)
Experience in a customer-facing or sales role is a plus, but not requiredEager to learn sales best practices and scientific applications of our technology
Previous experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred)
Thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented startup environment
The desire to travel and be customer-facing at events and conferences
