As a Cook, you will work closely with the Kitchen Manager while ensuring meals meet dietary guidelines. Responsibilities include managing kitchen security, supervising inmate workers, and adhering to strict hygiene standards, directly impacting rehabilitation efforts through food services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare nutritional meals approved by the Dietitian/Nutritional Manager
• Guide and supervise inmate workers in food service tasks
• Conduct inspections to maintain kitchen security and cleanliness




• Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
• Maintain accurate records of meal service data
Requirements:
• Completion of a Journeyman Certificate and four years of cooking experience
• Mandatory Food Handler’s Course certification
• Experience in a correctional setting is valuable
• Strong decision-making and interpersonal skills
• First Aid & CPR certification preferred
