- The candidate will be responsible for managing contracts, coordinating technical activities, and ensuring compliance with legislative and environmental standards.
- The candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise in tenure development, road and block layout, silviculture, and forestry contract administration.
- The candidate will be responsible for contributing to the Market Pricing System by supporting timber auctions and improving forest management practices.
- The candidate will be responsible for supporting sustainable forest management practices that benefit communities and protect the environment.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must have graduated from an approved technical institute with a diploma or degree in resource or forestry management and have three years of experience in one or more operational field forestry activities.
- The candidate must have an equivalent combination of education and experience, including five years of experience in one or more areas of operational field forestry.
- The candidate must have experience in one or more operational field forestry activities, including timber harvesting monitoring and conformance, cut-block development, forest road engineering, silviculture, or timber tenure development and administration.
- The candidate must be registered or eligible for registration with the Forest Professionals of British Columbia (FPBC) as a Registered Forest Technologist or equivalent.
- The candidate must possess a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License with no restrictions that prevent them from performing job duties.
- Preference may be given to candidates with three years of specific operational field-based forestry experience in silviculture.
- Preference may be given to candidates with three years of specific forestry experience in one or more operational field-based forestry activities, including tenure development, road and block layout, or timber tenure administration.
- Preference may be given to candidates with experience in contract or financial administration.
- The candidate must be located in BC at the time of employment.

- The candidate must be willing to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions when required.
- The candidate must be willing and able to travel as required to meet job responsibilities.
- The candidate must be willing and able to travel by fixed-wing aircraft, rotary-wing aircraft, and/or watercraft as required for job duties.
- The candidate will have access to adaptable work options and may work up to 2 days from home per week, subject to an approved telework agreement and successful completion of the probation period.
