$114,810.87 to $135,071.61 annually

Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of NSCC programs at Kingstec Campus, ensuring the highest standard of quality and consistency in programing while supporting student success. This includes the delivery of customized and continuing education programming which will include evenings and weekends; on and off-site.

With your strategic and operational leadership, ensure the objectives of programs offered by NSCC are met through efficient and effective management of all fiscal and human resources, while endorsing the application of adult education principles and portfolio learning.

Bring innovative and creative approaches that maximize NSCC assets to increase training opportunities through multiple program delivery modes during the full calendar year for the Institute of Skilled Trades at Kingstec Campus.

Ensure that all direct reports and learning spaces meet and follow the accepted NSCC standards related to safety practices and certifications and ensure Program and Departmental safety meetings and inspections are performed and documented.

Be a key member of both Campus and the Institute teams. Campuses and the Institute share accountability for ensuring a quality-learning environment and a cohesive campus team.

Provide leadership in building and nurturing a campus culture of innovation, equity and safety for students and employees.

Use your established relationships in related sectors regionally and locally to inform programming and opportunities for students.

The Current Portfolio Includes Approximately 25 Direct Staff Reports And Approximately 300 Students (full-time, Part-time, And Apprenticeship). Current Programming Responsibilities Include:

Automotive Service and Repair

Carpentry

Electrical Construction and Industrial

Electrical Technician

Landscape Technician

Plumbing

Precision Machining

Truck and Transport Repair

Qualifications

The minimum educational qualification for this position is either a Red Seal designation or an undergraduate degree in a field related to the Institute of Skilled Trades. A Graduate Degree would be considered an asset.

You have a minimum of seven (7)



years of recent and progressive occupational experience in a field related to the Institute of Skilled Trades.

You have a minimum of five (5) years in a formal supervisory, management or leadership role. Experience in your field includes leadership/management and formal teaching at a post-secondary level. Leadership in a post-secondary setting that includes supervising faculty would be considered an asset.

You have experience managing physical and financial resources to ensure effective service delivery. This includes experience managing operating budgets, forecasting and meeting targets.

Occupational experience that includes managing in a unionized environment would be considered an asset.

You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail, Brightspace, or ERP.

You have experience leading or contributing to programs and/or initiatives that foster equity and inclusion.

Occupational experience that includes community and industry engagement would be considered an asset.

You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience.

You have experience in training/facilitation preparation, delivery, and evaluation.
