Join Island Health in their mission to provide compassionate support as a Peer Support Worker. You will engage directly with clients experiencing mental health and substance use challenges across multiple sites.
This full-time role involves working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver essential services. Peer Support Workers contribute significantly to clients with histories of psychiatric disability, homelessness, and trauma. Applicants will ideally have personal experience receiving mental health services and relevant training or certifications in peer support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide client services • Organize and deliver tailored support to at-risk individuals • Engage in service delivery with flexibility and compassion • Adhere to safety and quality standards mandated by Island Health • Maintain effective communication with clients and team members
Requirements: • Current or past recipient of mental health services • Community Mental Health Certificate or related qualification • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License needed • Productive organizational skills for service delivery • Experience engaging with diverse adults and youth populations
