Northwood is seeking a dedicated professional to join its SEEDS for Success team. Your expertise in therapeutic recreation and mental health will be key in developing and facilitating various programs. This role involves gardening, creative expressions, and one-on-one therapeutic support, all geared towards improving the lives of clients. Experience in long-term care and strong communication abilities are crucial for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and develop community-focused gardening and creative arts programs • Supervise volunteers and manage program logistics • Keep accurate records for client participation and progress • Facilitate support groups targeted at anxiety and depression • Conduct art programming with guest artists
Requirements: • Diploma in Occupational Therapy Assistant or relevant area • 1-2 years of applicable work experience • CPR/First Aid and WHMIS certification • Capacity to lift and transfer up to 44lbs • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
