Reporting to the Coordinator, you will provide life skills training, coaching, advocacy, and support for clients facing severe substance use issues. Your experience in Indigenous communities and knowledge of relevant protocols is essential in delivering care and fostering connections. This role emphasizes promoting independence and supporting clients in their daily activities while respecting cultural values.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide life skills training and coaching for clients
• Advocate for client needs with a culturally protected approach
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal care
• Report clients' progress and reactions to treatment
• Support clients in daily living activities and engage families
Requirements:
• Diploma in Community Social Services or related field
• Minimum two years experience with Indigenous communities
• Knowledge of mental health legislation and harm reduction
• Valid Class 5 vehicle license
• Current Level C Basic Life Saving Certificate
Assist individuals in vulnerable situations while advocating for Indigenous cultural safety with Island Health.
