About this opportunity Reporting to the Senior Coordinator, OT Site Systems, the role of Staff Site OT DCS Systems Technologist / Engineer is to provide Level 1 support for on-site industrial control system (ICS) and break fix of critical control system components at our Thermal asset(s) to maintain system health.

While this vacancy is currently at Sunrise this posting could be used to fill vacancies at any of the three Oil Sands Operations sites (Christina Lake, Foster Creek, or Christina Lake North, based on business need).

Work Environment This is a full-time employee position working a shift of 11.5 hrs./day; 7 days on 7 days off ; 2-week cycle.

Sunrise Sunrise is located approximately 100 km northeast of the City of Fort McMurray and is a fly in/ fly out remote camp-based position Sunrise has full-service camp facilities Cenovus will provide transportation to Sunrise from designated hubs out of Calgary and Edmonton At the Sunrise site, employees will be provided comfortable camp accommodations and recreational amenities

Foster Creek & Christina Lake Depending on your place of residence and your shift rotation, bus and/or air transportation to/from site is offered from designated departure points in select locations Foster Creek and Christina Lake has full-service camp facilities Foster Creek is serviced by flight Hubs in Calgary and Edmonton Christina Lake is serviced by flight Hubs in Calgary and Edmonton as well as bus transportation to site from La Corey, AB. and Lac La Biche, AB

What you’ll do Responsible for the on-site health monitoring, high system availability, preventative maintenance, and break fix of:

DCS, PLC and SIS Hardware and Software

Delta V, Rockwell, ABB

OT Technology customized for Control System Infrastructure

Virtualization (Hyper V & VMWare)

Domains

Virtual Desktops & Applications

Networking and Security

Basic Cisco Configuration

Industrial Networks, ethernet IP, Modbus

Cyber Security Operations

Patch Management

Disaster Recovery Plans

Technology & Lifecycle Management

Maintain Installed Inventory Database

Parts management

Provide appropriate levels of documentation to support the repeatability of OT tasks and assist in skill development and knowledge transfer of team members

Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to support implementation of MOCs, new projects, and technologies.

Participate in emergency response, continuity, and recovery.





Who you are Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

Legally authorized to work in Canada

Minimum 12 years as a P.Eng or as a Technologist working in the Instrumentation, Automation and Control System field with a broad level of experience.

Experience with the Engineering, Commissioning, Operation & Maintenance functions of a production facility.

Demonstrated design, implementation, and operational knowledge of integrated plant control systems (DeltaV, Rockwell).

Experience with work management systems (SAP, Service-Now).

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver’s abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
