School District No. 91 (Nechako Lakes) invites applicants for Casual Indigenous Education Advocate roles. Your mission will be to provide comprehensive support to Indigenous students, supporting their cultural, social, and academic well-being. This position emphasizes the importance of role models and cultural advocacy within educational settings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver cultural and emotional support to Indigenous students
• Serve as a positive Indigenous role model in schools
• Collaborate with teachers on students' holistic needs
• Maintain communication with families to aid student success
• Complete necessary administrative reporting
Requirements:
• High school graduation (Dogwood Certificate)
• Two years of post-secondary education with Indigenous component
• Six months of relevant experience with Indigenous youth
• Familiarity with local Indigenous customs and communities
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean record
