Definity is seeking a skilled Litigation Counsel to manage civil and insurance litigation. This hybrid role demands solid advocacy and negotiation skills, focusing on diverse claims.

As part of our team, you will independently handle a portfolio of civil and insurance litigation matters, representing us in various legal settings. Your expertise in developing strategies, negotiating settlements, and providing legal advice will be crucial for our Claims department's success and growth. Your ability to oversee complex claims, including property damage and bodily injury cases, is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage tort litigation files through resolution or trial
• Represent in court, mediations, and examinations




• Develop litigation strategies and negotiate settlements
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• Provide legal advice to Claims department

Requirements:
• Law degree and licensed in Alberta
• 2+ years civil litigation experience, preferably insurance
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
• Strong analytical and judgment capabilities
