Lead community engagement initiatives as the Park Stewardship Program Lead for the City of Edmonton. This role focuses on fostering public interaction with parks and green spaces.
As a Recreation Officer 1, you will plan, deliver, and assess stewardship programs that promote care and use of parks. Engage with residents and local organizations to create a cooperative environment while overseeing program budgets and team mentorship. Your efforts will contribute to enhancing community connectedness and environmental awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and improve park stewardship initiatives and community gardens
• Track and manage program budgets for efficiency
• Engage local communities and gather input for enhancements
• Develop communications to promote park activities
• Administer grant applications and oversee teams
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration or similar
• Minimum three years in park operations or community recreation
• Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License needed
• Current Standard First Aid certification with CPR-C required
• Experience in community outreach programs is advantageous
