Canadian Light Source Inc. seeks a Mid-IR Beamline Scientist or Associate Scientist in Saskatoon. This full-time role focuses on user support and advanced scientific research.
As a part of the Canadian Light Source Inc. team, you will assist in the operation and technical oversight of the Mid-IR beamline. Applicants with a Master's or Ph.D. in the physical sciences or engineering, and expertise in infrared spectroscopy are preferred. Your role will include setup, user training, and data analysis while promoting a culture of safety and compliance during experiments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Setup and maintain the beamline and endstation • Guide users in effective and safe scientific practice • Conduct data analysis and solve technical issues • Develop operational manuals related to beamline • Work versatile shifts, addressing user needs post hours
Requirements: • Master's degree or Ph.D. in relevant field • 1-2 years of related experience required • Proficiency in infrared spectroscopic methods • Experience with advanced optics and laser systems • Basic skills in Python programming preferred
