For positions covered by a collective agreement, placement within the range will follow the applicable step or classification.WORK ILLUSTRATION:The Senior Manager, Construction (Stations) is responsible for leading the strategy, planning, execution, and performance of the organization’s Stations construction and maintenance portfolio, including capital projects, reactive restoration, and customer connections. This role oversees end-to-end program delivery through a team of front-line managers across multiple locations, ensuring safe, on-time, and high-quality outcomes aligned with organizational goals. The position champions a solid safety culture, ensures compliance with all health and safety regulations, and drives continuous improvement in operational practices, productivity, and sustainability. The incumbent plays a key leadership role in developing talent, strengthening frontline leadership capability, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement while achieving business performance targets related to safety, customer service, financial results, and operational excellence. Additionally, the role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, contributes to strategic initiatives, and leverages industry insights to enhance policies, practices, and overall stations operations performance.The incumbent is expected to behave ethically and follow the established code of business conduct, policies and internal control procedures, laws and regulations governing Toronto Hydro.T his posting is for an existing vacancy.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead the planning, prioritization,
and execution of capital, maintenance, reactive, and customer connection programs.Deliver work safely, on schedule, within budget, and to defined quality standards.Optimize workforce, contractor, and equipment resources across multiple teams and locations.Drive standardization, process improvement, and adoption of new technologies.Manage departmental budgets, performance metrics, and operational scorecards.Enhance field productivity and implement strategic spare parts management to support a growing Stations asset base.Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.Conduct field audits and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions to mitigate risk.Champion a strong safety culture through Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles.Support and contribute to safety programs, initiatives, and committees.Lead, coach, and develop front-line leaders and employees to drive engagement and performance.Manage employee performance, attendance, and development in accordance with policies and collective agreements.Build leadership capability to support consistent operational and project execution.Advance workforce development through apprenticeship, training, and skills development programs.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify risks and achieve operational objectives.Build and maintain strategic relationships with external partners and industry stakeholders.Represent the organization in industry forums and help advance leading practices.Incorporate stakeholder insights into operational planning and continuous improvement efforts.Support divisional initiatives that improve construction execution, sustainability, productivity, and asset performance.Align departmental strategies and plans with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements.REQUIREMENTS:Minimum three (3) year college diploma; a combination of education and experience may be considered.Ten (10) or more years of construction, maintenance and stations commissioning experience within a utility operations environmentMinimum five (5) years progressive supervisory and/or crew leadership experienceMEARIE Journeyperson Sub-Station Electrician Certificate or equivalent (Preferred)Demonstrated experience managing large-scale construction or maintenance work programsExperience working in a unionized environmentStrong knowledge of utility construction and maintenance practices and industry standardsStrong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, policies, and proceduresKnowledge of the Ontario regulatory environment and key stakeholders within the electricity sectorKnowledge of project management methodologies and execution practicesKnowledge of process improvement and continuous improvement principlesKnowledge of financial management including budgeting, forecasting, and cost controlDemonstrated leadership capability with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop front-line leadersSrong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skillsStrong influencing and negotiation skillsStrong change management capabilityStrong problem solving and decision-making skills in complex operational environmentsStrong strategic thinking and planning skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsValid Class G driver’s license strongly preferredTo support the overall well-being and success of our employees, Toronto Hydro provides a comprehensive total rewards package which includes:24/7 access to Employee & Family Assistance Program and Virtual HealthcareCompany-paid life insurance and long term disabilitySpending
