Our Firm has an opening for a Tax Manager to join our team . The Position Details are as follows :

Status: Full-time, Permanent

Office Location: Choice of St. Catharines, Hamilton, or Burlington; hybrid available after 3 months

Salary Range: $113,000 – $148,500

This role will participate in our Firm's structured Bonus program, and is eligible to receive our benefits plan

Reason for Hire: Replacement

Reporting to Partners and Principals, you will be responsible for:





Leading tax planning engagements for corporate reorganizations, estate and post-mortem planning, business succession, and M&A; transactions

Reviewing instruction letters, preparing technical tax memos, and providing guidance to clients, legal counsel, and internal teams

Approving tax compliance filings for individuals, corporations, trusts, partnerships, and related foreign reporting requirements

Conducting tax research, interpreting legislation, and developing proactive recommendations for clients and leadershipNotifying senior managers or partners of significant issues, presenting solutions, and ensuring resolution

Supervising and mentoring staff, providing feedback, participating in coaching programs, and supporting professional development

Delegating tasks and managing engagement workflow, deliverables, billings, budgets, and profitability

Collaborating with other service lines to deliver comprehensive client solutions

Participating in client meetings to discuss technical issues, planning items, and recommendations

Additional responsibilities as needed to support firm objectives

The ideal candidate will have:

Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in Public Accounting or other relevant experience, with a minimum of 2 years specializing in Canadian income taxation





Chartered Qualified Accountant (CPA) Designation

Completion of, or enrollment in, the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course, or completion of the MTax program

Experience reviewing and providing final sign-off on moderate complexity compliance engagements (T2, T3, T5013).

Experience with foreign reporting (T1135, T1134, T106) and SR&ED; filings. Experience with EIFEL is considered an asset.

Experience with tax planning, cross-border issues, and/or transactions is considered an asset.

Ability to embrace and integrate emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI tools), to drive innovation and efficiency in tax processes
