Lead legal strategy at the Port of Prince Rupert as the Director of Legal Services. This role emphasizes compliance, risk management, and supports organizational goals through comprehensive legal guidance.
Reporting to the Vice President, Communications and General Counsel, you'll provide crucial legal services across departments. As a key leader, you will engage with corporate strategies, manage legal risks, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. Your expertise will encompass contract negotiation, Indigenous affairs, and corporate governance to drive strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide legal support for corporate and operational departments
• Negotiate and draft commercial agreements including leases
• Advise on Indigenous consultation and agreements
• Identify legal issues and develop mitigation strategies
• Prepare Board materials and legal opinions
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Law Degree and Law Society membership
• 7+ years of corporate/commercial legal experience
• Experience in contract negotiation and lease documentation
• Solid legal research and communication skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively
