Become a Shelter Youth Worker at WoodGreen and contribute to transforming lives. This part-time position supports male youth in crisis, fostering resilience and safety.
In this role, you'll work directly with youths aged 16-24 in a secure, supportive workplace. Your experience in youth care will empower you to manage their daily needs while enhancing their engagement and promoting an inclusive atmosphere. Teamwork and strong communication are key to this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct supervision and care to residents
• Implement strengths-based relating practices in care
• Ensure safety through regular perimeter checks
• Complete necessary client documentation and reports
• Participate in operational activities of the shelter
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in a related field
• Previous work with homeless youth or in a shelter
• Effective communication skills in verbal and written formats
• Valid certifications in First Aid/CPR and managing aggressive behavior
• Completion of suicide intervention and prevention training
