Job Description

Halifax Tides FC is looking for a creative, digitally savvy Digital Content & Social Media Associate Manager to lead the Club's day-to-day digital presence and help tell the stories of professional women's soccer in Atlantic Canada.

This is a hands‑on role combining social media management, photography, video, graphic content, community management, website management and digital analytics. Working across both Halifax Tides FC and Tides FC Academy , the successful candidate will bring the Club to life online, from first‑team matchdays and training to Academy programming, player stories, community initiatives, partnerships and behind-the-scenes moments.

Working closely with the Marketing & Communications team, this role will help grow our audiences, strengthen supporter relationships and tell the story of the pathway being built for women and girls in our region.

Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management

Lead day‑to‑day management of multiple Halifax Tides FC and Tides FC Academy social channels.

Develop and execute social media content calendars aligned with Club priorities and campaigns.

Create, publish and optimize platform‑specific content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, YouTube, LinkedIn and emerging platforms.

Lead live social coverage during matches, training, Academy programming, community events and Club initiatives.

Monitor social trends and identify opportunities for timely, relevant content.

Identify opportunities to grow audiences across Halifax and Atlantic Canada.

Support ticketing, partnerships, community, merchandise, football, Academy and other Club priorities through digital channels.

Content Creation

Capture high‑quality photography and video at matches, training sessions, Academy programming, community events and other Club activities.

Conceptualize, shoot and edit engaging short‑form and social‑first video.

Produce quick‑turnaround content in live environments, particularly on matchdays.

Create digital and social graphics using Adobe Creative Suite.





Develop recurring content series and storytelling opportunities across first‑team and Academy channels.

Work closely with Tides FC Academy to showcase Academy programming, players and coaches and tell the broader story of the pathway from development environments to the qualified game.

Adapt Club content into platform‑appropriate social formats.

Support content requirements across the Academy, partnerships, ticketing, merchandise and community initiatives.

Community Management

Own day‑to‑day digital community management across Halifax Tides FC and Tides FC Academy channels.

Monitor and respond to comments, messages, mentions and supporter conversations in the Club's established voice.

Identify opportunities to build relationships with supporters and online communities.

Monitor emerging conversations and elevate sensitive or reputational matters appropriately.

Website & Digital Platforms

Manage and maintain Halifax Tides FC‑owned websites and digital properties.

Publish and update news, match information, player information, Academy content, campaigns and Club initiatives.

Work with Communications to publish editorial and media content.

Support landing pages and digital campaigns across ticketing, marketing, partnerships, Academy and community.

Apply basic SEO and web‑development best practices and troubleshoot basic website issues.

Monitor performance across Club and Academy social and digital channels.

Report regularly on audience growth, engagement, content performance, website traffic and channel health.

Use performance insights to improve content and channel strategy.

Monitor league, competitor and broader sports‑industry digital activity to identify emerging opportunities.

Digital Strategy & Analytics

Monitor performance across Club and Academy social and digital channels.

Qualifications

Demonstrated professional experience managing social media channels for a brand, organization, sports property or similar environment.

Strong portfolio demonstrating photography, video and social‑first content creation.

Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is required, particularly Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Lightroom.

Strong photography, videography and video editing skills.

Experience managing and updating websites through a content management system, with basic web‑development knowledge.

Strong understanding of major social platforms, trends and audience behaviours.

Robust copywriting, storytelling and communication skills.

Experience interpreting social and digital analytics.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and matchdays.

Experience in professional sports, entertainment, media or live events is considered an asset.

Knowledge of soccer and the Canadian sports landscape is considered an asset.

A genuine passion for growing women's soccer and helping build stronger development and professional pathways for players across Atlantic Canada.

You live and breathe digital content and understand that successful social media is about more than posting. You're comfortable moving between planning a content calendar, filming at training, covering an Academy event, editing a Reel, creating a graphic and engaging with supporters online.

You're creative, proactive and able to move quickly when the moment calls for it. You bring ideas to the table, take ownership of your channels and understand the opportunity to tell stories at every level of the Club.
