Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Optometrist to join our dynamic eye care team! In this role, you will provide comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, and deliver exceptional patient care in a welcoming setting. Your expertise will help improve vision health and enhance the quality of life for diverse patient populations, including pediatrics and senior care. We are an established 30+ years practice in Welland. Welland is a growing community with lots to offer in recreation and culture. Housing is still affordable in the region. Its a great place to grow.

Duties
Conduct thorough eye examinations using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques
Prescribe corrective lenses and contact lenses tailored to each patient’s needs. Optician available to assist with contact lenses
Diagnose and manage ocular diseases, including glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy. OCT AND VF available.
Provide patient education on eye health, preventive care, and treatment options




Collaborate with optical staff to assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear and accessories
Document patient visits accurately in electronic health records such as IFILE/CFILE or similar systems
Assist with sales of optical products while maintaining a focus on delivering excellent patient care
No weekend or evening hours

Qualifications
Valid license to practice as an Optometrist in ONTARIO
Prior optical experience is preferred for familiarity with equipment and procedures
Robust knowledge of medical terminology related to eye health and ocular conditions
Experience working with patients of all ages is highly desirable
Ability to deliver compassionate patient care with excellent communication skills
Familiarity with electronic health records systems such as IFILE/CFILE is a plus
Demonstrated interest and knowledge in optical sales and product recommendations to enhance patient satisfaction
