Contingency Response Team

UPI Staffing is building a team of Personal Support Workers and Developmental Support Workers for upcoming temporary assignments across Ontario.

This position is for people who are able to travel and stay away from home when an assignment is active.

Pay and Assignment Details
$27.50 per hour before overtime
Overtime paid according to Ontario employment standards
12-hour shifts
Must be available to work up to 6 days per week while deployed
Day and night shifts may be available
Hotel accommodation provided when required
Approved travel expenses covered when required
Temporary assignments may last weeks to months

This is a temporary contract prospect and may not be suitable for someone currently working full time.

What You Will Do

You may support adults with developmental disabilities in residential settings.

Duties may include:
Supporting Individual Support Plans and Behaviour Support Plans
Supporting daily living activities
Personal care
Meal preparation and household support
Community and residential support
Completing daily documentation
Supporting individuals with behavioural or complex needs
Working independently and as part of a support team





Requirements

Applicants should have:
PSW, DSW, SSW, CYW or another related diploma or certificate
Experience supporting people with developmental disabilities is preferred
Valid First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain it
Police Check including Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 6 months or willingness to obtain one
CPI, SMG or other crisis intervention training is an asset
Solid written and verbal English skills
Legal ability to work in Canada
Ability to work 12-hour shifts
Ability to travel within Ontario when an assignment becomes available

This is a contingency roster.

Completing the application does not mean you are required to accept every assignment.

Qualified applicants will be added to UPI Staffing's Ontario Contingency Response Team and contacted when temporary assignments become available.

When an assignment becomes available, you will receive the location, expected dates, schedule and other assignment information before deciding whether you are available.

Pay: From $27.50 per hour
