Support labour relations at UNB in Fredericton or Saint John as a Labour Relations Legal Assistant. This full-time, hybrid role emphasizes research, policy development, and effective communication.
In collaboration with the Senior Labour Relations Counsel, you will assist in coordinating academic labour relations functions. Your primary responsibilities will involve preparing legal documents, organizing negotiation sessions, and conducting comparative research to guide union negotiations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate solid organizational and communication capabilities crucial for managing both documentation and meeting coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and manage legal documents and correspondence
• Organize meetings and maintain schedules for Labour Relations team
• Conduct and compile research for negotiating positions
• Draft contracts and ensure compliance with policies
• Maintain confidentiality around all legal files
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• At least 3 years in administrative or HR contexts
• Knowledge of termination policies and procedures
• Experience in the post-secondary education sector preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
