Job Description
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager or Coordinator CYF-RS Manager or Delegate, the Behavioral Consultant conducts comprehensive behavioral assessments, develops and implements behavioral interventions and provides individual/group services to children & youth involved with the Early Intervention Program working within an interdisciplinary team.
Travel may be a requirement of this position.
Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And Experience Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or other relevant health related discipline.A minimum of two (2) years' recent experience providing direct behavioral assessment to pre school children with complex care needs and neurodevelopmental conditions. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) certification preferred.
Valid BC Driver's License.

Demonstrated skills in developing, implementing and evaluating behavioural treatment programs.
Demonstrated skills related to provision of individual and group therapy/counselling
Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team in care planning for complex clients and to proactively manage and resolve conflict
Demonstrated ability to work in complex environments
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to observe and record objective data
Ability to use a computer and applicable software applications
Ability to prioritize and organize workload
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
