About the Opportunity
Service Current Brunswick’s Provincial Health Application Services Branch is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Analyst 3 (QA3) to support SNB and Department of Health initiatives. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Quality Assurance Team Lead/Manager and collaborate with project teams to evaluate, validate, and improve the quality of complex healthcare applications and technology solutions.
The role involves manual and automated testing, performance testing, quality assurance, defect management, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), database validation, security/privacy considerations, and collaboration with business and technical stakeholders. SNB supports a broad portfolio of healthcare applications serving Regional Health Authorities and the Department of Health, including applications requiring 24/7 operational support.
Key Responsibilities
Complete QA deliverables in accordance with project and maintenance release plans.
Build, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases based on project requirements and change requests.
Perform functional, performance, connectivity, regression, integration, and automation testing.
Assist business users with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) , including test case/script execution and defect reporting.
Create and maintain performance-testing initiatives while following QA and performance-testing best practices.
Validate application quality against defined scope, requirements, and stakeholder expectations.
Review project and release requirements and perform gap analysis .
Work with IT resources throughout the design, development, testing, and implementation of projects and releases.
Develop and maintain testing documentation, defect reports, user documentation, and procedures.
Identify, document, track, and support resolution of defects throughout testing cycles.
Ensure applications comply with applicable government IT policies, procedures, security standards, data confidentiality, and privacy requirements .
Participate in QA review sessions, project status meetings, working groups, and stakeholder meetings.
Communicate regularly with project and team representatives regarding testing progress, risks, issues, and quality concerns.
Support knowledge transfer and assist with onboarding/training of new QA resources.
Provide testing assistance to other QA team members as required.
Stay informed about project direction, scope, and business/technical context.
Support completion of end-of-cycle testing and defect reports.
Contribute to knowledge transfer at the conclusion of the assignment.
Requirements
Mandatory Qualifications – M1 to M7
Candidates must meet all mandatory requirements to be considered.
M1 – Education
University degree in Computer Science, Health Sciences, Business Administration, or a similar discipline is preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Candidates should be prepared to provide their education level, institution, and education dates.
M2 – Testing Experience
Minimum 10 years of demonstrated testing experience covering:
Functional testing
Performance testing
Connectivity testing
Regression testing
Integration testing
Automation testing
M3 – Quality Assurance & Testing Methodologies
Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience with:
Quality assurance best practices
QA methodologies
System testing methodologies
M4 – Security, Data Confidentiality & Privacy
Minimum 8 years of demonstrated experience in security relating to:
Databases
Application design and development
M5 – Communication
Excellent written and oral English communication skills .
M6 – Availability & Work Location
Must be available to start within two weeks from the date specified in the SOW .
Candidate must declare the remote work location, including city and province , from which they will perform the assignment.
M7 – Submission Requirement

Strong candidates should demonstrate the following experience:
S1 – Performance Testing / JMeter
8+ years of demonstrated proficiency with open-source performance-testing tools for web applications and web services, such as JMeter .
S2 – Advanced SQL
8+ years of advanced experience using Structured Query Language (SQL) within a QA environment.
S3 – QA Frameworks & Methodologies
8+ years of demonstrated knowledge of QA frameworks and experience working with project methodologies including:
Water-Scrum
Agile
S4 – User Acceptance Testing
8+ years of experience supporting UAT, including:
Working with Business Owners
Defect resolution tracking
UAT coordination and support
S5 – Quality & Security Testing Tools
8+ years of demonstrated experience with HP Quality Center and HP WebInspect , or comparable tools.
S6 – Automation Testing
4+ years of demonstrated experience with automation testing tools, such as SOAPUI .
4+ years of experience with:
Database validation
Database comparison tools, such as SQL Data Examiner
4+ years of demonstrated experience working with:
Provincial healthcare applications
Electronic Health Records (EHR) applications
Canadian healthcare environments

The assignment is full-time for one year , commencing September 21, 2026 and ending September 20, 2027 , with one optional one-year extension. SNB may truncate the engagement if required and may extend the engagement monetarily by 25% if deemed necessary.
The successful candidate may work remotely or choose to work onsite in Fredericton, NB , where SNB will provide office space and resources. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM–4:30 PM AST. Travel outside Fredericton is not expected.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior QA professional with extensive testing, automation, performance testing, SQL/database, security/privacy, and Canadian healthcare/EHR experience to support major SNB and Department of Health initiatives.
