VetSimple is helping a well-established, after-hours emergency veterinary hospital in the Collingwood/Blue Mountain area find a relief veterinarian to cover a team member's maternity leave, starting [target date] for approximately 12 months.
About the role: This is a small, tight-knit emergency practice known for its strong reputation and fair, high-quality care. You'll work as the sole veterinarian on shift, supported by a dedicated technician and reception, with backup coverage available. Cases span both medicine and surgery, and you'll be triaging, prioritizing, and managing multiple cases simultaneously during after-hours and overnight coverage.
What you'll be doing: Provide solo emergency veterinary care, covering both medical and surgical cases
Triage and manage multiple concurrent cases with sound clinical judgment
Work after-hours/overnight shifts as part of a recurring schedule
Integrate closely with a small, established care team
What we're looking for:



Active CVO licence in good standing, with genuine independent emergency/surgical experience (not restricted or under supervision)
Comfortable working solo in a rapid-paced emergency setting
Strong prioritization and case management skills across concurrent cases
A collaborative approach, this practice values fit with their existing team as much as clinical skill
