Job Type: Part-time

Responsibilities
Follow the prep list based on the Urban Cafe menu
Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables
Prepare dishes such as salads
Prepare dishes for plating
Distributing plates to wait staff to be served, cleaning plates for dish washing, and preparing take away packages for customers
Maintain clean and orderly kitchen by sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
Perform other kitchen duties as assigned

Requirements
Available Monday-Friday daytime
Proven kitchen experience




Experience as a prep cook an asset
Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
Ability to work in quick-paced setting over the lunch hour
A team player with good communication skills
Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an asset
