Goodwill’s Used Cars is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant/Controller to oversee the financial operations of our busy automotive dealership. We are a family-owned and operated business that has proudly served the community since 1974.

This is a full-time, in office position for someone who is organized, dependable and comfortable managing the day-to-day accounting responsibilities of a dealership. The successful candidate will work closely with ownership and management to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls and the smooth operation of the accounting department.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable
Complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations
Process and review vehicle deal postings
Reconcile vehicle inventory, flooring accounts and schedules
Monitor cash flow
Prepare and submit HST, payroll and other government remittances
Assist with payroll administration and employee records
Maintain accurate records for vehicle purchases, sales and wholesale transactions
Establish and maintain effective internal accounting controls




Ensure accounting records comply with applicable regulations and company policies

Qualifications
Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience is required
Automotive dealership accounting experience is strongly preferred
Experience with PBS Systems or another dealership management system is an asset
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, financial statements and account reconciliations
Knowledge of Ontario payroll, HST and government remittance preferred
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple responsibilities
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
