We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our team in Winnipeg, Manitoba in a contract to permanent prospect.

This role is well suited to a detail-focused accounting specialist who can manage day-to-day financial operations across multiple entities while contributing to accurate reporting and robust internal controls.

The successful candidate will play a key role in month-end activities, reconciliations, payroll support, and financial record maintenance, while also building toward broader responsibilities at the Staff Accountant level.

Responsibilities: Oversee complete full cycle accounting activities for three separate legal entities, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and consistently.

Manage incoming invoices, outgoing payments, customer billings, and collections while keeping vendor and customer records current.

Prepare and record journal entries and maintain the integrity of the general ledger and supporting sub-ledgers.

Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts,



credit cards, and balance sheet accounts, investigating variances and resolving discrepancies promptly.

Process payroll as assigned and maintain organized, accurate payroll documentation in line with company requirements.

Maintain fixed asset continuity schedules and other essential accounting records to support reporting accuracy.

Assist with month-end and year-end close by preparing working papers, schedules, and support for internal financial statements and management reporting.

Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring by providing reliable financial data and analysis.

Collaborate with operational teams to gather complete accounting information, answer finance-related questions, and support process improvements, controls, workflow enhancements, and automation initiatives.
