Join Island Health as an Acute Care Speech-Language Pathologist, delivering essential services in communication and swallowing disorders. This role emphasizes patient care, education, and coordination across community settings.
The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients in acute care, focusing on optimizing individual care within Island Health's values. You will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and ensure timely delivery of services while adhering to the qualified standards set by the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and treat communication and swallowing disorders
• Develop individualized and group treatment programs
• Provide education for patients, families,
and staff
• Collaborate with Community Health Services
• Prioritize referrals and manage patient caseloads
Requirements:
• Graduation from a recognized Speech-Language Pathology program
• Current licensure with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong organization and judgment abilities
• Physical ability to perform job duties
