Join the Timmins High and Vocational School as an Indigenous Student Advisor. Build supportive relationships and advocate for Indigenous students to enhance their educational experience.

This permanent role focuses on supporting Indigenous students through guidance, mentorship, and strong community ties. You will work to identify barriers to success and facilitate pathways that honor students' unique strengths. Effective communication with families and First Nation communities is essential for creating a welcoming workplace for all.

Key Responsibilities:
• Establish trusting relationships with students and families
• Remove barriers to academic success for students
• Provide pathways guidance based on individual strengths




• Ensure open communication with families and communities
• Advocate for Indigenous students and their cultural activities

Requirements:
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent experience
• Post-secondary education such as Educational Assistant is an asset
• Valid driver's license is required
• Knowledge of cultural teachings and best practices is essential
• Background check with vulnerable Sector Screening is mandatory
