Be a catalyst for change at Kamloops Aboriginal Friendship Society as a Community Reconnection Navigator, focusing on healing and empowerment for those impacted by the justice system.
This full-time role centers on providing vital cultural and community support to individuals navigating their reintegration journey. Collaborate closely with community partners, justice organizations, and multidisciplinary teams to foster accountability and cultural reconnection, helping participants develop healthier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Help participants with reintegration and community navigation strategies
• Co-facilitate Warriors Against Violence sessions alongside Elders
• Advocate for access to housing, employment, and healthcare
• Support behavioral change through learning and mentorship
• Document and monitor participant progress and program statistics
Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in relevant social sciences
• Experience with violence prevention and justice-involved individuals
• Robust advocacy and relationship-building abilities
• Knowledge of Indigenous justice and community resources
• Valid BC Driver's License and reliable transportation
