Provide vital trauma-informed counselling services for women at Athena's Counselling and Advocacy Centre. This role employs a feminist framework to support survivors of gender-based violence through various delivery methods.

As a Counsellor, you will hold a significant position in delivering holistic support to women overcoming trauma. Utilize your skills in trauma-informed care and feministic empowerment approaches to guide clients in understanding their experiences. Responsibilities include supportive counselling, crisis intervention, and community advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver individual and group counselling sessions
• Support safety planning and personal goal development
• Establish a safe and non-judgmental environment




• Collaborate with community resources for client support
• Respond to crisis situations and provide interventions

Requirements:
• Minimum 3-5 years counselling experience
• Relevant post-secondary degree/diploma, BSW/MSW preferred
• Certification in First Aid/CPR and WHMIS
• Solid knowledge of violence against women issues
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
