We're looking for our first General Manager —a hands‑on, results‑driven leader who will oversee daily operations, lead and develop our team, drive sales performance, and help shape the future of our business.
This is more than a General Manager position. It's an opportunity to work alongside the CEO, influence strategy, build a high‑performing team, and play a key role in the growth of an ambitious company.
Position Overview
The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of Abundant Air, providing leadership across operations, sales, customer experience, financial performance, and team development.
You'll split your time between the office and the field, ensuring the business runs efficiently, supporting employees, strengthening customer relationships, solving operational challenges, and driving profitable growth.
Regular Schedule:
Monday to Friday. Occasional evenings or weekends may be required to support operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
Lead the day‑to‑day operations of Abundant Air.
Coach, support, and develop a growing team of technicians, sales professionals, and office staff.
Ensure scheduling, dispatching, customer communication, and field operations are efficient and customer‑focused.
Develop and improve operational systems, processes, and best practices.
Monitor key performance indicators and implement continuous improvements.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards,
and industry regulations.
Sales & Business Growth
Drive revenue growth while achieving profitability targets.
Build a culture of exceptional customer service and solution‑based selling.
Coach teams to identify opportunities for maintenance plans, equipment upgrades, and value‑added services.
Monitor sales performance, conversion rates, average ticket values, and gross profit.
Build relationships with builders, property managers, commercial clients, and referral partners.
Partner with the CEO on strategic growth initiatives and future expansion.
Leadership & Customer Experience
Foster a positive, accountable, and high‑performing workplace culture.
Recruit, coach, mentor, and retain top talent.
Conduct regular performance reviews and field coaching.
Serve as the primary operational contact for customer and service‑related issues.
Ensure every customer receives an exceptional experience from first contact through project completion.
Manage departmental budgets and monitor financial performance.
Review operational reporting and key performance indicators.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
Partner with the CEO on annual planning, budgeting, and business strategy.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager, Service Manager, or similar leadership role.
Demonstrated success leading operations, developing teams, and growing sales.
Experience in HVAC, plumbing, mechanical contracting, construction, home services,
or another skilled trades environment is strongly preferred.
Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, KPIs, and profitability.
A hands‑on, solutions‑focused leader who enjoys working both in the office and in the field.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and business growth.
Valid Manitoba driver's licence with a satisfactory driving record.
$90,000 annual base salary
