Become a Housing Outreach Worker with Downtown Eastside Women's Centre in Vancouver. Provide vital support to women facing homelessness and help them secure secure living environments.
This full-time role at DEWC focuses on outreach to women living in extreme poverty. A background of at least two years working with marginalized women is essential, alongside knowledge of trauma-informed care and the issues specific to the Downtown Eastside. You will help these women navigate the complexities of finding stable housing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement outreach strategies to connect with women in need
• Assist in establishing and maintaining secure housing
• Document client interactions and maintain case details
• Engage with local agencies and support services
• Reflect DEWC's mission in all outreach activities
Requirements:
• Minimum two years of directly related experience
• Understanding of women's issues in the Downtown Eastside
• Required First Aid Certification; NVCI preferred
• Excellent organizational skills for case management
• Proven ability to manage multiple demands effectively
