Job Summary The Registrar’s Office (RO) is a large, multi‑unit, multi‑site operation that supports students throughout their academic journey, from enrolment to convocation and beyond. Through a wide range of services and functions, the RO provides critical support for the University’s mission while safeguarding the integrity of institutional policies and student records. Reporting to the Manager, Enrolment Systems Operations, the Data and Operations Specialist is a key resource in providing student information, data, reporting, and systems operational support for the Registrar’s Office and external departments.

Key Responsibilities

Create new and modify existing reports for recruitment, admissions, registration, convocation, scheduling, scholarships and awards; run and develop processes.

Regularly run and monitor specific system processes necessary for the smooth operation of the Registrar’s Office.

Review, analyze and interpret requests for ad hoc student information reporting and design and produce reports/data files with the required information.





Verify data accuracy and ensure that security standards for the distribution of information are maintained.

Assist with the tracking and statistical reporting of requested reports; review processes for efficiency and effectiveness

Maintain validation tables and troubleshoot problems with data entry for staff within the Registrar’s Office.

Note The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in‑person work on campus and work from home from within Nova Scotia) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Required Qualifications

Business/Office Administration program with three to five years’ relevant experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).

Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong digital literacy skills including proficiency with Microsoft 365.

Demonstrated functional knowledge of reporting and proficiency in creating data reports.

Assets

Cognos experience or programming/software development experience.

Knowledge of Banner [and Banner Student and Banner Student Aid ( BSA )], workflows, and supplemental data engine.

Experience working in a university setting.
