Role Summary We are seeking an HSE Coordinator to join our team on the QEII Halifax Infirmary Expansion Project in Halifax. The HSE Coordinator supports the delivery of a strong, preventative safety culture across Modern Niagara operations. They work closely with field teams, supervisors, and leadership to coordinate training, maintain compliance, manage documentation, and promote safe work practices. Success in this role means reduced risk, engaged workers, and consistent alignment with Modern Niagara’s health and safety standards.

Key Impact / Purpose Support a strong, preventative safety culture across projects and operations
Reduce workplace risk through training coordination, compliance support, and hazard awareness
Enable consistent safety performance by maintaining accurate documentation and records
Strengthen engagement between field teams, leadership, and the HSE function
Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate internal and external health and safety training, including scheduling and record maintenance
Maintain, upload, and manage training and safety documentation within internal systems
Facilitate HSE orientation for all new hires
Support contractor compliance across third‑party platforms (e.g., Avetta, ISNet)
Assist with document control, data integrity, and quality assurance of safety records
Support the HSE and Risk Management teams by preparing required statistics and documentation for prequalification
Assist in the development and distribution of HSE communications aligned with the HSE strategy
Partner with operations teams to reinforce safety messaging across the workforce
Attend and support HSE‑related meetings
Upload completed documents into Noggin as required
Provide administrative and coordination support to HSE Specialists, Regional Managers, and Leadership as needed
Must Haves Post‑secondary education in a related field or equivalent practical experience
Experience working in the construction industry
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Effective communication skills with the ability to work with employees and stakeholders at all levels
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team workplace
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites using a personal vehicle
Full‑time, on‑site role with the ability to work in an active construction site setting.
Nice to Haves Previous experience in an HSE, safety coordination, or compliance support role
Health and safety certifications or credentials
Experience supporting contractor compliance platforms (e.g., Avetta, ISNet)
Experience using safety management systems such as Noggin
Strong interest in developing a long‑term career within the construction industry
Salary Expected annual compensation; $52,000 - $60,000.
