Full job description Registered Veterinary Technician Join a Team Where You Can Make a Difference
We’re looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) who brings strong technical skills, a genuine love for animals and people, and a “can-do” attitude to our team.
We’re an energetic, supportive veterinary hospital located in an up-and-coming area of the city , and we’re lucky to have an incredible team of people who genuinely care about one another, our patients, and our clients.
We’re proud to be a legacy veterinary hospital, serving pets and their families since the 1970s , with deep roots in the community and an exciting future ahead. As we continue to grow and evolve alongside this up-and-coming area, we’re looking for passionate people who want to help shape the next chapter of our hospital.
We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just want to complete their shift, but wants to add value to the team, take ownership, contribute ideas, and help make the hospital a better place.
If you’re the kind of person who sees a problem and thinks, “Okay, how can we solve this?” rather than “That’s not my job,” you may be exactly who we’re looking for.
Our Schedule Tuesday–Friday, 9:00 AM–7:00 PM
No weekends for the foreseeable future.
We’re proud to offer a four-day operating schedule that gives our team more time outside of work while still allowing us to provide comprehensive veterinary care to our clients.
What You’ll Do As an RVT, you’ll play an important role in both patient care and the day-to-day functioning of the hospital.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting veterinarians with examinations, consultations, procedures, surgeries, and diagnostics
Performing technical procedures including venipuncture, catheter placement, radiographs, sample collection, laboratory testing, and other nursing duties
Monitoring patients throughout anesthesia, surgery, and recovery, recognizing changes and responding appropriately
Administering medications, vaccines, treatments, and fluids as directed by the veterinarian
Providing thoughtful, low-stress handling, restraint, and nursing care to patients
Processing laboratory samples and operating in-house diagnostic equipment accurately
Maintaining thorough and accurate medical records
Communicating treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up recommendations clearly with clients
Building positive relationships with clients and helping them feel confident in the care their pets are receiving
Participating in patient follow-ups and continuity of care
Maintaining a clean, organized, safe, and efficient treatment environment
Contributing to hospital workflows, protocols, inventory, and day-to-day organization
Collaborating with the entire veterinary team to keep patient care running smoothly
Recognizing opportunities for improvement and contributing ideas that make our processes, patient care, and client experience better
The Person We’re Looking For Technical skills are important, but who you are as a teammate matters just as much.
We’re looking for someone who is:
Accountable — you take ownership of your responsibilities and follow through
Reliable and hardworking — you understand that a great hospital depends on people who show up for one another
Solution-oriented — you’re comfortable troubleshooting, thinking critically, and looking for solutions before immediately passing a problem along
Resourceful and independent — you can work through routine challenges confidently while knowing when something genuinely needs to be escalated
A team player — you want to contribute to a supportive environment rather than simply work alongside one
A strong communicator — you communicate clearly and respectfully with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, CSRs, and clients
Comfortable with client communication — you can explain medical information clearly and navigate difficult conversations with empathy and professionalism
Skilled at de-escalation — you can remain calm, compassionate, and solution-focused when a client is upset or frustrated
Compassionate — you genuinely care about the experience of both the patient and their person
Adaptable — veterinary medicine can change quickly, and you’re able to roll with it without losing your cool
Proactive — you notice what needs to be done and take initiative rather than waiting to be asked
Willing to learn — you’re open to feedback, professional development, and expanding your skill set
Someone who adds to the culture — you bring kindness, respect, positivity, and a willingness to help your coworkers
Most importantly, you’re someone we can count on.
We want someone who looks around the hospital and thinks, “What can I do to help?”
