Join the YONA-Sistema program as a Teaching Artist in Edmonton, Alberta, from September 2026 to June 2027. This part time role focuses on music instruction, supporting youth through creative learning.
As part of YONA, your teaching will inspire students, guiding them in daily music lessons and community performances. You’ll work collaboratively with a dedicated team, ensuring a supportive atmosphere while reinforcing inclusive practices. Engage in planning activities beyond class hours to maximize student growth and community impact.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct daily instrumental classes for up to 20 students
• Facilitate rehearsals and oversee concert preparations
• Provide academic support and supervision during breaks




• Maintain relationships with students and families
• Follow YONA values promoting equity and inclusion
Requirements:
• Advanced cello training required
• Education in music performance or teaching preferred
• Experience working with youth in music
• Competent in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
• Must pass a explicit criminal record check
