Elevate aquatic animal health in Bible Hill with the Nova Scotia Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture as an Aquatic Animal Health Veterinarian. Provide essential veterinary services that impact sustainability.
This permanent role reports to the Chief Aquatic Animal Health Veterinarian and embarks on providing comprehensive veterinary care. Responsibilities include diagnosing diseases and developing management programs in consultation with aquaculturists. You will be integral to health surveillance initiatives, necessitating extensive travel throughout Nova Scotia’s aquaculture sites.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer veterinary care to aquaculture populations
• Design and implement provincial health programs
• Draft reports on health recommendations
• Collaborate with officials on animal health policies
• Travel for fieldwork and assessments throughout the province
Requirements:
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine required
• Must be licensed in Nova Scotia
• Proven experience in aquatic veterinary practices
• Excellent oral and written skills
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for travel
