Lead innovative projects as the Manager of Development Engineering for the City of Nanaimo. Oversee engineering planning and development, ensuring community-focused outcomes.

The City of Nanaimo is looking for a permanent, full time Manager of Development Engineering. This role reports directly to the Director of Planning & Development, involving independent judgment in reviewing complex development proposals. Applicants will bring at least five years of supervisory experience along with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage planning and directing of development engineering projects
• Oversee review processes for development proposals and plans




• Collaborate with various stakeholders including developers and the community
• Implement policies to enhance departmental effectiveness
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulations

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in management
• Eligibility for membership in Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence
• Strong leadership and communication skills
