The John M. Parrott Centre is a fully accredited state-of-the-art, 168 bed long-term care home located in the Town of Greater Napanee. We offer free parking, a safe work workplace, and advanced technology to support our staff. JMPC is currently in the process of becoming a RNAO Best Practice Spotlight Organization, with opportunities for a Nurse Practitioner to lead implementation of Best Practice Guidelines.

The ONA Collective Agreement expired in March 2025. The rate of pay is subject to change.

Eligible new permanent full-time Nurse Practitioners may receive up to $25,000 through The John M. Parrott Centre’s Nurse Practitioner Recruitment and Retention Incentive Program, payable over a two-year employment commitment.

What you will do:

Utilize advanced-level clinical skills in collecting & interpreting medical information, conducting health assessments and formulating medical diagnoses

Work collaboratively with the Medical Director to provide high-quality, compassionate,



and resident-centered care to the residents of the Home, ensuring clinical excellence, continuity of care, and adherence to all regulatory and qualified standards

Provide vital clinical contributions in the development of Resident care plans, engagement at resident wellness reviews, implementing and evaluating clinical decisions

Facilitate the coordination and involvement of key stakeholders, including Physicians, clinical staff, residents and resident families/care partners, in the development of Resident care plans, with a focus on resident-centered, holistic care

Assume a key role in various programs, including skin & wound care, IPAC, pain management, palliative care and end of life, as well as various quality improvement initiatives; ensuring the use of evidence-based best practices guidelines

Play a key role in emergency room diversion initiatives to support Ontario’s Primary Care Action Plan.

Provide clinical and evidence-based input into relevant policies and procedures

Demonstrate leadership and ability to provide education, mentoring, support and communication with staff, Residents and families

Work collaboratively amongst an interdisciplinary team; build & support external stakeholder relationships, and represent the Home when networking with professional organizations

Ensure compliance with legislated standards and regulations, including, but not limited to, the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, Occupational Health Safety Act, CNO Guidelines & Practices, RNAO BPGs, and the policies & procedures of the Home

What you will bring:





Registered Nurse – Extended Class – In good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), required

Master’s Degree in Nursing (MScN), required

Experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner in a long-term care or geriatric setting, preferred

GPA, PIECES, or other seniors-focused training or professional development, an asset

Strong computer skills, including but not limited to Point Click Care, electronic ordering system and MS Office suite

Ability to think critically, prioritize, analyze information, and problem solve effectively

Excellent verbal & written communication skills, ability to exercise empathy and discretion, skills to provide adult education

Flexible, team player, able to build and maintain positive working relationships

Proven ability to attend work regularly and punctually

A satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector, is a condition of employment
