Shape the future of UBC's advocacy and outreach as the Associate Vice President of Government and Community Relations. Build sustainable partnerships to enhance institutional goals.
This role provides the vision and strategic direction for UBC's engagement with government and community stakeholders, focusing on policy advocacy and relationship management. The Associate Vice President will steer efforts to position UBC as a vital voice in public policy matters and strengthen connections at local, provincial, and national levels. Candidates should possess extensive experience in public relations and strategic communications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead comprehensive advocacy strategies aligned with UBC's mission
• Manage relationships with government and community partners
• Direct community engagement programs and initiatives
• Facilitate forums and discussions on strategic issues
• Ensure explicit communication between government and UBC leadership
Requirements:
• 5+ years in a senior leadership position
• Advanced degree in Political Science or similar field
• In-depth knowledge of government operations and policies
• Experience with stakeholder relations in higher education
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
