We are seeking an experienced OCS Bonding Project Coordinator to coordinate electrical and civil engineering activities related to overhead contact system (OCS) bonding. This role will support the seamless integration and delivery of bonding requirements while working closely with engineering, project management, construction teams, customers, utility providers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Position Responsibilities
OCS Bonding Coordination
Coordinate OCS bonding delivery based on internal stakeholder requirements.
Gather and manage electrical requirements in coordination with signaling teams.
Coordinate design production and installation interfaces.
Support construction teams throughout project execution.
Ensure bonding activities comply with applicable permits, licenses, and project requirements.
Design & Engineering
Coordinate the production and submission of designs, including calculation notes and layouts.
Review design deliverables and obtain required approvals.
Respond to design comments and coordinate necessary revisions.
Define technical criteria for OCS bonding activities.
Review and update Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
Subcontractor & Supplier Management
Coordinate and oversee construction subcontractors responsible for the OCS bonding scope.
Evaluate subcontractors and suppliers against established technical criteria.
Provide installation interface support to customers, partners, and subcontractors.
Coordinate project requirements and resolve issues affecting installation activities.
Permits & Project Documentation
Manage requests for permits and licenses according to project needs.
Prepare and follow up on correspondence related to OCS bonding activities.
Maintain appropriate project documentation and track deliverables.
Participate in collecting and documenting lessons learned from OCS bonding installation activities.
Prerequisites
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
2-3 years of experience in OCS bonding design or installation.
Experience working on railway projects is preferred.
Strong knowledge of electrical and installation engineering.
Familiarity with ESA rules, Canadian electrical standards, and common industry practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Proactive, resilient, and adaptable approach to project challenges.
Fluency in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation.
Skilled Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in accordance with Ontario regulations.
Additional training or certifications in railway systems, electrical engineering, or OCS/traction power systems are an advantage.
