About The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Perioperative Services, the Manager, Medical Device Reprocesing (MDR) is responsible for providing management and leadership in the planning development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and systems that support MDR services within the assignmed zone.
The Manager will lead the day-to-day operations of all MDR departments inthe Western zone, ensuring efficient, protected,
and high-quality service delivery. This includes engaging in continuous quality improvement initiatives and fostering strong, collaborative relationships with perioperative services and other clinical partners.
While the primary accountability of this role is operational at the zone level, the Manager will work in alignment with provincial MDR standards and collaborate with MDR leader across zones to support consistency, quality, and patient safety. The role contributres to the development and advancement of provincial MDR practices through shared leadership and participation in provincial initiatives.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
Baccalaureate degree related to healthcare or business/management and five years’ progressive management experience, preferably in healthcare, or an equivalent combination of education and 10 years' progressive management experience, preferably in healthcare
Certification through CSA or IAHCSMM or willingness to obtain
Post-secondary education or training in Infection Prevention & Control or Medical Device Reprocessing an asset
Master’s degree an asset
Formal quality management education an asset
Knowledge of legislation and best practice related to the Transportation of Dangerous Goods and Medical Device Reprocessing
Knowledge of labour relations and human resource practices, processes and collective agreements
Solid Understanding of Accreditation Canada standards and processes
Experience in leading quality improvement initiatives and implementing evidence-based practice
Demonstrated judgment and decision-making skills demonstrated through analysis and synthesis, critical thinking & problem solving, systems thinking and emotional intelligence
Management skills demonstrated through planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluating
Ability to manage human resources/intellectual capital, financial resources, capital/material assets and information
Demonstrated professional accountability and responsibility to the teams, the provincial perioperative program and the overall organization with tangible experience in team building mechanisms
Demonstrated conflict resolution, negotiation and change management skills
Commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practice, self-care and employee wellness.
Demonstrated proficiency in Windows applications, web-based programs, and other computer competencies and software applications
Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours
Permanent, full-time; 75 hours bi-weekly
Compensation And Benefits
$45.75 - $56.04 Hourly
