Enhance data stewardship at the University of Alberta as a Research Data Management Implementation Specialist. This hybrid position focuses on executing the institutional RDM strategy and fostering collaboration.
In this two-year term role, you will report to the Director of Research Ethics and Integrity and lead efforts to operationalize the Research Data Management strategy. Your independent judgment helps assess institutional readiness and improve practices across the research community, ensuring adherence to compliance standards and evolving mandates.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate the implementation of the RDM strategy across campus
• Evaluate gaps in current RDM capacity and readiness
• Collaborate with RIS, the Library, and other departments
• Align institutional practices with data stewardship standards
• Promote innovation while supporting ethical research practices
Requirements:
• Proven leadership experience in research data management
• Understanding of FAIR data standards and privacy laws
• Robust cooperative and communication skills
• Experience with Indigenous Data Sovereignty initiatives
• Capacity to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities
