Senior Atlassian Consultant Location: Toronto, ON | Onsite 4 Days/Week Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent (FTE)

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced

Senior Atlassian Consultant / Atlassian SME

with deep hands-on expertise in

Jira, Confluence, and Jira Align . The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Atlassian tool administration, configuration, customization, Agile tooling strategy, integrations, scripting, and enterprise-scale implementations.

The consultant will work closely with enterprise stakeholders, Application Delivery teams, Agile methodology owners, and Jira administrators to define tooling strategy, implement scalable solutions, improve Agile processes, and drive effective adoption of Atlassian platforms.

Required Technical Skills

7-10+ years of deep hands-on experience with

Atlassian Jira and Confluence .

Strong hands-on experience with

Jira Align, Jira, and Confluence .

Experience with

Atlassian Data Center

versions of Jira and Confluence.

Strong experience with

Jira administration, configuration, customization, and implementation .

Experience configuring:

Workflows

Triggers

Automation

Screens and screen schemes

Permission schemes

Notification schemes

Issue types

Components

Project roles

Strong knowledge of

JQL (Jira Query Language) .

Experience creating advanced

Jira dashboards, reports, filters, and operational metrics .

Atlassian REST APIs

and web integrations.

2+ years of scripting experience using

Groovy and/or Python .

Experience implementing and customizing

Atlassian Marketplace plugins .

Experience with Agile tooling and

Agile at Scale

solutions.

Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and enterprise Agile practices.

Key Responsibilities Agile Tooling Strategy





Define and implement strategic direction for

Agile tooling

in partnership with enterprise tools and methodology owners.

Evaluate, pilot, and implement new

Jira plugins and Marketplace applications

supporting Agile at Scale.

Define enterprise standards and best practices for Jira and Confluence usage.

Establish standards for

permissions, workflows, post-conditions, dashboards, screens, fields, and configurations .

Develop a roadmap for integration between Jira and other technical, enterprise, and Portfolio Management applications.

Maintain prioritized backlogs of tooling enhancements and strategic initiatives.

Develop meaningful operational and performance metrics for business and technology leadership.

Atlassian SME & Consulting

Act as an

Atlassian Subject Matter Expert

and provide technical leadership, recommendations, and best practices.

Partner with Application Delivery teams to improve effective usage of Atlassian tools.

Coach executives, business stakeholders, Agile teams, and delivery teams on Jira and Confluence capabilities.

Facilitate product demonstrations, technical workshops, training sessions, and how-to guides.

Advise and train Jira administrators on global and project-specific configurations.

Support knowledge sharing through Atlassian and Agile communities.

Solution Design & Implementation

Design and implement custom

Atlassian solutions , including workflows, configurations, plugins, scripts, and automation.





Develop scripting solutions using

Groovy and Python .

Build web integrations between Atlassian products and enterprise applications using

REST APIs .

Configure Jira project roles, issue types, components, workflows, and release-based configurations.

Design and manage screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes.

Implement and maintain Jira and Confluence Marketplace plugins.

Analyze business requirements, assess technical impact, recommend solutions, and implement enterprise tooling enhancements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in

Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering , or a related field preferred.

5+ years of hands-on experience with

Jira and Confluence .

3+ years of experience in

consulting or client delivery

roles.

3+ years of experience managing

software/tool implementations .

2+ years of scripting experience with

Groovy and/or Python .

2+ years of experience with

REST API and web integrations .

Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to manage multiple projects, clients, priorities, and deliverables simultaneously.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and solution-design capabilities.

Nice-to-Have Skills

Atlassian certifications or active progress toward Atlassian certification.

Hands-on experience with

Agile at Scale Marketplace plugins .

Experience with

business process improvement

initiatives.

Experience working in large-scale, multi-team

Agile environments .

Understanding of non-functional requirements including

scalability, availability, performance, and security .

Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth technology environments.
