Make an impact in student lives as a District Counsellor for Nechako Lakes School District. This role offers a unique opportunity to support diverse student needs and requires travel to various schools.
Starting September 1, 2026, the District Counsellor position is ideal for candidates passionate about addressing behaviour disorders and developing individualized education programs. Qualified applicants must possess a Bachelor of Education, a valid BC teaching certificate, and graduate training in Counseling Psychology. Collaboration with district staff is essential to deliver comprehensive counselling across grade levels.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement counseling programs for all grade levels
• Provide assessments for suicide risk and emotional disorders
• Collaborate with educators on individual education plans
• Facilitate social skills programs for diverse students
• Maintain positive interactions with students and families
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Education and BC teaching certification
• Graduate degree in Counseling Psychology
• Experience with behaviour disorders in students
• Familiarity with child abuse reporting regulations
• Strong interpersonal skills and creative teaching methods
