We are seeking an assistant manager at our trendy Salmon Arm Boutique. Weekend availability and past managerial or supervisory experience are necessary. The schedule is 30-40 hours per week, and the starting wage will be based on experience. Social media skills, photography, and Lightspeed Point of Sale (POS) experience are assets.

Boutique Supervisor

Job Purpose The position supervises boutique sales associates in providing excellent customer service. Under the direction of the manager, the supervisor engages with customers to build and sustain customer relationships and support the shop's reputation. The supervisor oversees daily floor activity and displays excellent communication skills, working effectively with customers and team members in a fast-paced retail environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service

- Greet all customers in a professional and friendly manner that emphasizes a pleasant and inclusive atmosphere.
- Engage with customers to better understand their needs and provide helpful recommendations.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system with attention to accuracy and efficiency in completing transactions.

Staff

- Assign daily operational duties, floor tasks, and customer service zones to team members based on their individual strengths and availability.




- Conduct on-floor coaching to provide immediate constructive feedback and model boutique selling techniques.
- Oversee onboarding and orientation to ensure boutique staff deliver outstanding customer service and drive store loyalty.

Store Operations

- Oversee all sales associate duties and responsibilities.
- Monitor the sales floor and entrances to deter shoplifting and theft.
- Maintain the visual order and aesthetic appeal of the sales floor and backroom to maximize sales and elevate the customer experience.
- Reconcile daily cash drawers, securely manage daily bank deposits, and acquire cash and coin to maintain the store register.
- Retrieve, sort, and distribute daily mail to support smooth store operations.

Inventory and Merchandising

- Prepare, review, and communicate purchase order requests to management.
- Liaise with suppliers to prepare purchase order requests.
- Accept deliveries and receive products according to receiving procedures.
- Work with ownership on optimal pricing of retail stock based on boutique profit margins.
- Design and assemble eye-catching in-store and window displays that attract customers, promote products, and drive sales.
- Manage stock levels to ensure products are always available for customers without overfilling the back room, and notify management when popular items run low so they can be reordered.

Marketing

- Oversee sales associate social media duties.
- Review local charitable donation requests and coordinate product donations to build brand goodwill.

Leadership

- Build a positive team environment and connect with diverse shoppers.
- Model professional excellence, resilience, and adaptability to guide team morale.
- Establish a culture of accountability and mutual respect.
- Maintain consistent, explicit, and helpful communication with staff, management, and suppliers.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
