Make a difference as a Legal Advocate with the City of Hamilton, focusing on litigation and legal advisory roles. This position offers a chance to shape municipal law while serving the community.

You will work under the City Solicitor, providing essential legal services and advocacy on a variety of cases, including commercial disputes and administrative hearings. Engage in strategic legal planning and counsel to reduce risks while supporting city functions and governance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Advise City Council on legal matters and implications
- Manage litigation and administrative law cases
- Draft legal documents and procedures for the City
- Represent the City in all legal proceedings
- Develop legal risk mitigation strategies

Requirements:

- Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized institution
- 3 to 7 years of relevant legal practice experience
- Expertise in commercial litigation and administrative law
- Robust communication and analytical skills
- Proficient in MS Office with a focus on efficiency
