THE****CHANCE The KCDSB is seeking a passionate and skilled Mental Health Worker to join our multidisciplinary Mental Health Team. This rewarding role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children, youth, and families by providing evidence-informed mental health support within a school setting. Working from a strength-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive framework, the successful candidate will support student well-being, resilience, engagement, and success through direct intervention, consultation, prevention, and capacity-building initiatives.

As a valued member of our team, you will collaborate closely with students, families, educators, school administrators, and community partners to address mental health challenges and enhance access to timely support. This position provides a unique opportunity to combine clinical expertise with preventative and system level approaches that contribute to safe, inclusive, and supportive school communities.

KEY****RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide individual, family, and group mental health support to students using evidence-informed, strength-based, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and support students experiencing social, emotional, behavioural,



and attendance-related challenges
- Collaborate with students, families, educators, administrators, and Board staff to promote student well-being and success
- Deliver mental health education, prevention programming, and capacity-building initiatives within schools
- Consult with school teams to identify barriers to learning and recommend appropriate supports and strategies
- Coordinate services and maintain effective partnerships with community agencies and external service providers
- Participate in multidisciplinary case planning and contribute to student support processes, including Individual Education Plans (IEPs), where appropriate
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Board practices
- Engage in ongoing professional learning, clinical supervision, and reflective practice
- Promote inclusive, culturally responsive, and mentally healthy school environments

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree required; Master's degree considered an asset
- Registration in good standing with a regulatory college recognized under the *Psychotherapy**Act.*2007
- Experience providing mental health services to children and youth, preferably in a school or community setting
- Knowledge of child and adolescent mental health, family systems, clinical assessment, and trauma-informed practice
- Understanding of relevant legislation, skilled standards, and ethical practice
- Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage a caseload, prioritize effectively, and exercise sound clinical judgment
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to strength-based, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and equity-focused practice
- Valid Ontario Driver's license and access to reliable transportation
