NUTRITION PROGRAM LEAD (10-Month- Long Term Occasional)

THE OPPORTUNITY The KCDSB is seeking a candidate who is passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and making a positive difference in the lives of children.
As a valued member of our team, the Nutrition Program Lead plays a key role in delivering high-quality nutrition programming at St. John Paul II School. This position is responsible for planning nutritious menus, preparing and serving daily meals and snacks, managing kitchen operations, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting student and family nutrition education initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and prepare healthy, nutritious menus and meals
- Coordinate and deliver daily meal and snack programs for students
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the school kitchen
- Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness
- Manage food ordering, inventory, and cost control processes
- Receive and store food supplies in accordance with safe food handling practices
- Prepare food and ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Support family and student cooking and nutrition education programs as required
- Promote and comply with all Kenora Catholic District School Board health and safety policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Northwestern Health Unit Safe Food Handling Certification
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certification
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, storage, and kitchen operations
- Basic cooking and food preparation skills
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Valid Ontario Driver's Licence
- Experience working with children, youth, and diverse communities
- Experience delivering nutrition, cooking, or wellness programs
- Volunteer or work experience within a school or community-based setting
